Abstract A very deep O III forbidden line image of the Crab Nebula's faint jet-like feature shows it in much greater detail than previously recorded and reveals it to be a wide, yet remarkably collimated structure. The jet, which is situated about 3 arcmin north of the remnant's center, extends outward from the nebula's outermost visible border and appears as a sharply defined rectangular emission region 45 x 75 arcsec in size. It has bright, parallel edges which suggest a tubular structure. However, the jet is not radially aligned toward either the Crab Nebula's center of expansion or pulsar. Spectroscopy of the northern tip indicates a radial velocity of +150 + or - 100 km/sec. The jet's optical appearance and possible origin are discussed.
