Abstract
Objectives: Late onset driveline infections are a serious problem in patients treated with intrathoracic cardiac assist devices. We hypothesized that a long subfascial, C shaped course of the driveline (double tunnel) could reduce the incidence and severity of late driveline infections compared to the conventional short and straight driveline tunnel (conventional).
