Abstract

According the analysis to the thrust and normal forces of single-side linear induction motor (SLIM), a decoupled-control scheme of the two forces is proposed by selecting appropriate voltage vector in PWM inverter, the primary flux linkage and the phase angle between primary and secondary flux linkage are simultaneously controlled, then the decoupling control of normal and thrust forces is achieved. Based on the control scheme, combined levitation -and- propulsion of model SLIM maglev vehicle is realized without additional levitation magnets. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. It is suitable to the control of combined levitation-and-propulsion SLIM maglev vehicle.
