Abstract

Methods for estimating defocus and aberration errors in sideband electron holography are discussed. A modification of the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm is not successful, even in simulations, whereas minimization search of image contrast works for simulations but not very successfully for experimental data. For crystalline objects, periodic continuation does allow avoidance of sampling difficulties in deconvolving the transfer function.
