Abstract
The authors comment on how the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has demonstrated how structural racism is transcribed and enacted in the health of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people Topics covered include ways through which critical and intensive care nurses can decolonize care for BAME patients, the importance for nurses to consider a patient's cultural needs, and how failure to consider culture can lead to a deficit in racially appropriate care
