Abstract

This research focuses on underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs). Underwater wireless sensor networks face a challenge in increasing lifetime and increased energy consumption with reduced maintenance. The study proposes introducing autonomous underwater vehicles called AUVs with low energy consumption during data transmission to the end-users. The research also proposes a protocol known as Fuzzy c referred to as clustering, which focuses on increasing the effectiveness of the wireless sensor network. The AUVs will aid in packet delivery ratio enhancement and reduction of the sensor network transmission delays. Additionally, the study compares the proposed protocol to be implemented in MATLAB with state-of-art similar algorithms. The study tries to illustrate the usefulness of the AUVs based on the energy consumption, data transmission, packet delivery ratio, packet loss ratio, time taken for packets delivery, and packets of data sent by the AUVs per round parameters. The research employs the IPv6 address scheme in sending packets rather than other internet protocol-based schemes. The research shows that using AUVs as a wireless underwater sensor network increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the data transmission to the users.
