Abstract

We study the decays of $q\overline{q}$ states with large mass using the amplitudes of two-dimensional quantum chromodynamics. To do this we first develop simple diagrammatic rules for determining the asymptotic behavior of tree graphs in the theory. These are then applied to meson decays, yielding a number of results, including a power-law dependence on $s$ for the asymptotic average hadronic multiplicity in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation.
