Abstract
The spin and parity of the 1.46 MeV excited state of Sm 148 populated by the decay of 5.4 d Pm 148 have been investigated using angular correlation techniques. Both directional correlation and polarization direction correlation measurements have been made on the 910–550 keV cascade. On the basis of these measurements, it has been possible to make an assignment of 1 − for the spin and parity of the 1.46 MeV level.
