Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the reasons why farmers growers of potatoes of Sumapaz fail to pay the credits granted by the Agrarian Bank, due to the losses of their crops due to climatic changes, forced displacement, among others, that in addition to causing indebtedness to the farmers in this area, generates unemployment and shortages of potatoes. Likewise, the results could serve as a basis for the guidelines of alternative projects linked to the improvement of environmental, economic and social conditions, not only of the communities that inhabit the study area, but also for the rural inhabitants of the locality 20 (Sumapaz) of the Capital District, taking into account the pillars: “Equality of quality of life, and community building” and the second trans- versal axis of the development plan of locality 8: “environmental sustainability based on energy efficiency and the protection of ecosystems ”.
