Abstract
This is a rhetorical analysis of the edited transcript “Debating Markets.” The aim of the analysis is to suggest the value of rhetorical methodology to the feminist project of re-envisioning economic theory, discourse, and disciplinary relations. The analysis considers what the text reveals about the barriers to the effective production of economic knowledge from a feminist perspective and why these are important to understand and address. The concluding argument is that economic discourse is a species of persuasive discourse that shapes the civic order.
