Abstract
Deba ibarreko euskara da aztergaia. Mendebaleko euskalkiaren barruan kokatu ohi da arrazoi osoz, baina azkenaldian Bizkaian sortutako berrikuntza gehienak ez dira hara zabaldu; bai, ostera, Gipuzkoan sortutako batzuk. Gertakari horiek erakutsi ondoren, eskualde honetako bereizgarriak aurkezten dira eta, amaitzeko, bertako hiru eremuetakoak: Debabarrena (Mutriku, Mendaro eta Elgoibar), Deba ibarreko erdigunea (Eibar, Ermua, Soraluze, Elgeta, Bergara eta Antzuola) eta Debagoiena (Oñati, Arrasate, Aretxabaleta, Eskoriatza, Leintz-Gatzaga eta Aramaio).
