Abstract

1. A study has been made of the extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons from the diesel fraction of Tatar crude by a binary mixture of methyl and ethyl carbamate. 2. The effect of various factors on the extraction process has been studied: extraction temperature, contact time, solvent: feedstock ratio, and the addition of water to the solvent. The optimal extraction conditions are: temperature 50°C, solvent to feedstock ratio 5∶1 by weight, and contact time 30 min. 3. The extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons by the binary alkyl carbamate mixture has been studied with a cross-current flow plan in 5 and 2 stages, and also with countercurrent extraction; an advantage has been shown for the latter. 4. The investigation of the extraction properties of the binary mixture of methyl and ethyl carbamates has shown the feasibility of its use to obtain Base 1/6 in the production of VMGZ oil from a Tatar crude diesel fraction.
