Abstract
De rebus bellicis (“On Military Matters”) is the inadequate title given to a late Roman illustrated treatise preserved with the Notitia Dignitatum and other works of reference in the lost Codex Spirensis, a manuscript of the late ninth to early tenth century which survives in five copies of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
