Abstract

In the 1960s, there was an increase in the offering of undergraduate Journalism programs in Argentina. A unique case during that time was the Escuela de Ciencias de la Información (School of Information Sciences) at the National University of Cordoba, due to the fact that it was planned without going through a Journalism training stage. This article is a preliminary advancement of a research aiming to study the beginnings of communication research in Argentina, focusing on the case of Cordoba. It can be concluded that training and knowledge production are linked to contextual political and social conditions.
