Summary : Of its trade fairs of the XIVth and XVth centuries which attracted numerous traders from all over Europe, in diplomatic and business tourism journeys which developed essentially since the XXth century, what reflections can we make on the evolution of the Genevan hotel business ? How did itform itself ? How, did it adapt itself to the socio economic, political and cultural environment ? At the same time, what space was reserved to the tourist promotion of Geneva? How was the image of the city shaped up during the centuries? And finally how did it influence the hotel business?
