Abstract
A study of de Haas-van Alphen oscillations in p-type Bi 2Te 3 has yielded all of the effective mass parameters. The valence band structure is found to consist of tilted ellipsoids centered on the mirror planes. From this data and the high field saturation value of the Hall coefficient for H ‖ c the number of ellipsoids is determined to be six.
