Abstract

It is just over a year since the first wave of Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT) sites began implementation. Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s (HPFT) Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is one of the sites that has been implementing CYP-IAPT over the past year, as part of a collaboration with seven other CAMH services in and around London and the South East of England, along with University College London and King’s College London. In this article Duncan offers some personal reflections on CYP-IAPT and the culture change it will bring about, one year on from the start of the roll out, and what it will mean for children and young people.
