Abstract
The conduction characteristics of thin films of tellurium deposited between gold electrodes on an ultasonically cleaned non-alkaline Corning 7059 glass substrate in a relative oxygen-free 10 −9 mbar vacuum at 125 K have been investigated. The results show that for applied electric field of 10 8 Vm −1, the films exhibit stable but low ohmic conductance 0.25 mS of but for higher field the characteristics display non-linearity and hysteresis.
