Abstract

The author applies the distorted Born iterative method (DBIM) to invert TE (transverse electric) measurements for the complex permittivity of a two-dimensional axisymmetric inhomogeneous medium. In each iteration of the DBIM, the distorted Born approximation is used to linearize the nonlinear inverse problem, and the numerical mode-matching method is used to solve the forward problem. Several numerical results have been shown to demonstrate the inversion of conductivity profiles using induction measurements. It is found that, even with a few measurements at the rotation axis, good images can be obtained by the inversion algorithm. >
