Abstract
The standardization of the DECT data profiles and GSM phase 2+ data items are progressing in European Telecommunication Standardization Institute (ETSI). In this paper the description of the digital enhanced cordless telecommunication (DECT) and GSM data standardization situation as well as the relations between different DECT data standards are given. Also, the DECT/GSM dual mode terminal (DMT) options concentrating on data services and applications are discussed here.
