Abstract
This chapter focuses on the Data Exchange Format for Surveying and Mapping Information (DEFS) People's Republic of China. This standard specifies a data exchange format for the organization and structure of a spatial data transfer. The overall structure of this standard is in the form of data exchange format for transferring vector and raster format data and information about surveying and mapping, and includes three logical records to keep data lineage information: vector data, raster data and assessment information.
