Abstract

In article number 1800414, Shih-Chang Syu and Gong-Ru Lin demonstrate a micro-ring waveguide-based data processor for all-optical cross-wavelength conversion up to 12 Gbit/s. By using carbon-rich silicon carbide (C-rich SiC) as core material and designing the core aspect with the smallest asymmetry to enhance the nonlinear Kerr switching, the cross-wavelength conversion efficiency can be improved to favor the on-chip all-optical data processing for future interconnect photonic integrated circuits.
