Abstract

Multimedia is a trend that has become one of the pioneers in the development of information technology advances in the current decade. The purpose of this study is to analyze every change and the final impact of bandwidth usage on the quality of Video On Demand and TV Broadcast services. The types of multimedia services include entertainment services in the form of video streaming both with the "on demand" operating mode and the "live broadcast" operating mode. This includes VOD (Video On Demand) and IPTV (TV Broadcasting) as well as radio broadcast services that are captured and broadcast using IP networks. Changes in bandwidth utilization due to running this multimedia application in a network will be the basis for multimedia service users before implementing it in their intranet network. This study uses the method of literature study. Therefore, this research was conducted to find the best solution to create reliable quality Video On Demand and TV Broadcast services within the intranet network. The results of this study show that Video On Demand and TV Broadcast applications can obtain resource efficiency from the client side and from the server side.
