Abstract
The principle of the one-dimensional disordered (OD) structure of Sr(VO3) 2. 4H20 has been determined. The structure is built of OD-layers of one kind. The vanadium atoms are coordinated by 5 oxygen atoms and the VO 3 chains are very similar to those in KVO3.H20. The strontium atoms have ninefold coordination, which is similar to the coordination with lowest potential energy, calculated by Dunitz.
