Abstract

During the years from 1996 to 1999 the Department of Law and the Institute of Physics completed the main campus of Augsburg University. New Library Buildings were added to the existing ones. This led to the fusion of branch libraries in the system. The library system of Augsburg University has been planned and gradually set up since 1970. Its buildings have been completed this year - time for a look at the new architecture and a look back to the years before. The central library and the three major branch libraries are situated in the very centre of the campus. They represent an ensemble that combines functional efficiency and aesthetic design.
