Abstract

Objective To investigate the prevalence rate of nosocomial infection and daily inspection,and to analyze the related factors for hospital-acquired infections or the effect of the monitoring system.Methods The cases of hospital-acquired infections detected in the past two years were reviewed,and then were compared with the survey results of the prevalence rate until April 29,2012.Results In the survey of prevalence rate for nosocomial infection,the rates of number and cases were higher than the values of daily monitoring.The upper and lower respiratory tract,urinary tract,and skin soft tissue were the most common sites for nosocomial infections,with a slight difference in order.The rate of specimen detection was higher in the prevalence survey than in the routine monitoring.Conclusions Prevalence survey is more reliable as a tool for assessing the monitoring system for nosocomial infection.
