Abstract
The article examines the political position of former US President D. Trump before the start of the presidential race in 2024. Despite the "toxicity" of his figure and the burden of criminal proceedings, the former head of the White House not only confidently dominates among the candidates from the Republican Party, but as of the end of 2023 also leads in a potential battle with incumbent President J. Biden. It is concluded that the probability of a rematch in 2024 between anti-rating leaders D. Trump and J. Biden is extremely high, and the outcome of the election will be determined not by а polarized but loyal parties’ electorate, but most likely by a small number of ambivalent voters.
