Abstract

The new Labour Code adopted on 21 April 2006, which became effective from 1 January 2007, represents autonomous legislation for the legal relationships arising within the performance of work between employers and employees, namely labour relationships, and some other issues as specified in sec. 1 of the Labour Code. The provisions of Act No. 40/1964 Coll., Civil Code (“Civil Code”), shall apply only if the Labour Code provides for such an application.
