Abstract
The article presents the image of the Black Sea region in the narrative of Michał Kruszona. The researcher claims that we are dealing with an extraordinary writer who portrays the fascinating world he keenly observes during his travels in an unconventional, sometimes almost fairy-tale-like and metaphysical manner. Kruszona’s described expedition resembles, in a sense, a magical journey, as it contains so much reality bordering on wakefulness and dreams. The image of war, degradation, and fear is constantly intertwined with the specific sphere of the sacred, characteristic of Eastern Europe, and with a supernatural, almost Marquezian reality. Therefore, it is an unusual book, worthy of our special attention.
