Abstract

SUMMARYThe karyotypes of six species of the genus Nigella could be investigated with somewhat modified C-banding techniques, and in the case of N. damascena quantitative measurements of the C-bands could be performed. The C-banding patterns were analysed and found to occur at primary and secondary constrictions and at intercalary segments. It allowed to establish some cytotaxoncmical relationships between the species.
