Abstract
Human cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a double-stranded DNA virus with high seroprevalence and is common in developing countries. The ability to cause a lifelong latent infection is established, and it can be reactivated later in life in both immunocompetent and especially in immunosuppressed carriers. We report a case of CMV colitis in an elderly gentleman who was initially admitted for COVID-19 pneumonia.
