Abstract
Cytomegalovirus is a double-stranded DNA virus in the herpesviridae family and a widespread pathogen in the general population. It causes both anterior and posterior uveitis in immunocompetent and immunocompromised individuals. While anterior uveitis is characterized by high intraocular pressure and iris atrophy; retinitis and rarely acute retinal necrosis are the clinical presentations in posterior uveitis.
