Abstract
A novel cylindrical linear pulse motor (C-LPM) with an interior permanent magnet mover is proposed. From an analysis by the finite element method and a magnetic equivalent circuit, it is shown that thrust imbalance does not occur in this C-LPM. The thrust imbalance in greatly improved with the proposed C-LPM configuration. The dynamic thrust of the proposed C-LPM becomes about three times larger than that of the conventional C-LPM. The starting frequency of the proposed C-LPM is improved above twice over that of the conventional C-LPM.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
