Abstract

Nonlinear transport in biased superlattices subject to both a strong magnetic field and an intense terahertz irradiation is studied within the density-matrix approach. Intra-collisional field effects of all applied fields are taken into account. New cyclotron–Stark–phonon–photon resonances in the current are predicted to occur for particular ratios of the Bloch, cyclotron, and terahertz frequencies. Electro-phonon resonances that were studied theoretically many years ago are enhanced by a quantizing magnetic field, but weakened by an intense AC electric field in the terahertz domain.
