Abstract
Abstract CYCLOPS L6 is an oil-hardening tool steel recommended for any tool-steel application requiring relatively great toughness, or where intricate shapes preclude the use of water-hardening steels. It is also recommended for machine parts and other components that require an excellent combination of hardness, wear resistance, compressive strength and toughness. Typical applications include dies of various types, arbors, punches, pinions, shear blades and clutch parts. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment.
