Abstract

The polymerization of the following compounds has been studied in the presence of Pd Cl2 in pyridine or DMF: dipropargyl ether, the propargyl ether of dimethyl-ethynylcarbinol, the anhydride of propiolic acid and propargylpropiolate. It has been shown that, with the first three monomers, cyclopolymerization occurs with the formation of soluble polymers. The paramagnetic and semiconducting properties and the heat-resistance of the polymers synthesized have been studied.
