Abstract

The role of internal stress in cyclic creep acceleration is critically examined by strain relaxation experiments and numerical calculations. It is shown that the internal stress is the driving force for cyclic creep acceleration and that the internal stress model used in the calculation can predict the cyclic creep behavior of aluminum under various stress conditions.
