Abstract
We have previously demonstrated an association between measured serum HCG levels and body weight after subcutaneous administration for ovulation trigger injection. However, the levels varied widely, and body weight alone could not be used to predict which patient could use a lower dose of HCG. Since FSH has a similar structure to HCG, its absorption might follow the same pattern and thus day 5 serum FSH levels might predict the dose of HCG needed. Furthermore, FSH bioavailability may have prognostic value for IVF cycle outcomes.
