Abstract
Investigated here is the problem of regulation of the song genre paradigm of Ukrainian folklore. The mechanisms of traditional meanings` transmission generated in the ballad are considered. The author of the article proves the genre parameters of the folk ballad. The scientist pays attention to the customary dominant of the plot generation of the meanings and observes the functional modifications.
