Abstract

Horticulture is a branch of agricultural production that allows to make a highly profitable industrial production of fruits and berries using intensive technologies and obtaining relevant economic results in a short time. The Russian market is not yet sufficiently developed for planting stock. According to the expert, its volume in 2019 was about 1 billion US dollars with an increase of 10-15% per year. In the world market, the share of domestic planting material is not more than 5-10%. A serious problem in the development of horticulture in Russia is the dependence on imported planting material, which is especially important in conditions of import substitution. It should be noted that orchards and berries in the country are unevenly distributed, depending on the climatic conditions of the regions, and there are grown those types of fruits and berries that are adapted to it.
