Endovascular therapy is rapidly becoming a mainstay of treatment for intracranial aneurysms. As such, clinicians who do not practice endovascular neurosurgery must become familiar with the methods of aneurysm treatment available, as well as the criteria for patient selection. In this article, some of the criteria for selecting endovascular therapy for an intracranial aneurysm, the techniques and devices available for treatment, and considerations for perioperative management are discussed.
