Abstract
Objective To explore the current status and influencing factors of humanistic care ability in student nurses so as to provide a basis for drawing up targeted intervention. Methods From 1st January to 31st December 2016, we selected 200 student nurses of a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital in Harbin as subjects by purposive sampling. All of the student nurses were investigated with the General Information Questionnaire and Caring Ability Inventory (CAI) . Results The total score and score of three dimensions (patience, understanding and courage) of CAI of student nurses were (181.63±10.21) , (101.47±8.67) , (141.33±12.55) and (129.77±3.65) respectively. There were statistically significant differences in humanistic care ability among different sexes, ages, internship hours, political status and being class cadres or not of nursing students (P<0.05) . Conclusions The humanistic care ability of student nurses is in a low level being influenced by various factors. Clinical teaching should take effective actions to improve humanistic care ability of student nurses. Key words: Students, nursing; Humanistic care; Practice
