Abstract

Most mountain torrent disasters are caused by heavy rains and pose a serious threat to the lives and property of people in mountainous and hilly areas. These risks affect the stability of social and economic development in these areas and urgently require management. This paper describes the overall planning of mountain torrent disaster prevention in Yunnan Province. Based on extensive investigation and study of existing mountain torrent disaster prevention measures, this paper summarizes the effects of infrastructure construction for mountain torrent disaster prevention measures in Yunnan Province. The weak links in current construction are analyzed, and suggestions for the future improvements in mountain torrent disaster prevention systems are proposed.
