Abstract

Currently, the utilization of micro-computer-aided technologies for the dynamic motion capture of sports digitalization is increasing gradually. To obtain the accurate athletics digital data during their various motions are of great importance for the evaluation of sports skills and improvement of sports capabilities, especially for some complex and dangerous sports events. To summarize the development trend of digital skiing technology, the digital information of skier dynamic motion acquisition and the corresponding applications are summarized. The digital skiing is defined as using sensor technology to obtain physical data in skiing as digital information or using computer to process this digital information in application. In this review, the main cases of skier measurement in digital skiing are reviewed comprehensively. Firstly, the advanced body measurement methods of skier digital information are concluded. Meanwhile, some experiments based on micro-inertial and visual sensors for skier posture acquisition are typical measurement methods that are analyzed independently. After that, an organized ski-simulator dataset is opened to contribute to the construction of digital skiing resource platform as well. Then, some potential research directions and challenges are presented to the corresponding engineers and researchers. Finally, the survey results shown that the relevant research mainly focuses on the skier’s posture acquisition, while the application of digital skiing information present large space for improvement.
