Abstract

Under the structural contradiction of employment, in order to help the graduate students occupy an advantage in the employment market, the systematic graduate students' professional values and career planning are required. This paper adopts the graduate career values and career planning scale, taking the graduate students in South China University of Technology as an example, and adopts the sampling survey to investigate and analyze the current situation of the graduate students' career values and career planning. The study uses principal component analysis to divide the occupational values into the job belonging, the self-realization and the social status dimensions. The career planning is divided into the specific planning and the general planning. The study found that the gender, the grade, the major and the internship experience had an impact on career values and career planning, while the place of origin had no impact on them, and that the formation of the professional values has a greater impact on the general career planning. Finally, we put forward some ideas such as clarifying the role of tutors in cultivating people, systematizing the graduate career education, accurately screening the graduate employment guidance needs, and expanding the service scope of the employment guidance departments.
