Abstract
ZusammenfassungDas MERS-Virus („Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus“, MERS-CoV) wurde erstmals 2012 in Saudi-Arabien entdeckt. Weltweit sind 1200 Ansteckungen bekannt, die in etwa 50 % zum Tod des Infizierten führten. Die Übertragungswege des Virus sind nicht zuverlässig erforscht. Vor dem Hintergrund eines plötzlichen Anstiegs der Fallzahlen in Südkorea stellt sich die Frage, wie sich Reisende im internationalen Verkehr verhalten sollten, um einer Infektion vorzubeugen. Eine Literaturrecherche der aktuellsten Beiträge zum Thema zeigt, dass unter Beachtung der entsprechenden Hygienemaßnahmen keine Reisebeschränkungen angezeigt sind.
