Abstract

Core Ideas Nonuniform flow has proven to be the rule rather than the exception in nearly all soils. Computational and technological advancements are promising for nonuniform flow. They allow improved visualization and characterization of structures across scales. We need to translate apparent complexity of geosystems into reproducible outcomes. Those outcomes must be of generalizable applicability in flow and transport research.
