Abstract

Objective To observe the curative effect and acute adverse reaction of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy to esophageal cancer patients. Methods 72 cases of esophageal cancer, all accepted three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy, therapeutic doses of 6000 to 7000 cGy, median prescribed dose 6400 cGy, 200 cGy per time, 1 time per day, five times per week. We evaluated the effects of threedimensional conformal radiotherapy and its possible acute adverse reaction toxicity. Results Among all patients, 45 with complete remission (CR; 26 ones with part remission (PR); No remission (NR) in one. 98.61%for tumor total effectiveness (CR + PR). Acute radioactive pneumonia 0 level, 44 cases; 19 cases with level 1, 8cases for 2nd level, grade 3 in 1, 4 level, 0; acute radioactive esophagitis 15 in level 0, 38 in level 1, 15 in level 2, 4 in level 3, but none in level 4. Conclusion Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy can obviously improve the therapeutic effect of esophageal cancer patients, but the long-term efficacy needs further observation. Key words: Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy; Esophageal cancer; Curative effect observation
