Abstract

Objective To investigate the application effect of erlotinib combined with three dimensional conformal radiation therapy on locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Methods Seventy-three patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer in hospital were divided according to the random number table, 36 patients in the control group underwent NP chemotherapy, and 37 patients in the observation group were treated with erlotinib combined with three dimensional conformal radiation therapy. The therapeutic effects, serum tumor markers[carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125)], serum matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), metalloproteinase -9(MMP-9) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels were observed and compared between the two groups. And the incidences of adverse reactions in the two groups were analyzed. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 83.78% (31/37), which was higher than that of the control group[61.11% (22/36)](P 0.05). Conclusions Erlotinib combined with three dimensional conformal radiation therapy in the treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer can improve the levels of serum MMP-2, MMP-9, VEGF and tumor markers. The curative effect is remarkable, and the safety is high. Key words: Non-small cell lung cancer; Local; Advanced; Erlotinib; Three dimensional conformal radiation therapy
