Abstract

(Abstracted from Obstet Gynecol 2017;129:1124–1130) A commonly cited article published in1997 estimated that the risk of reoperation after stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and pelvic organ prolapse (POP) was 29%. However, this high reoperation rate was based on only 400 women who underwent surgery in the Northwest region of the United States in 1995 (Obstet Gynecol 1997;89:501).
